About Bharat First

Pehle Desh. Sab Baad Me.

What is Bharat First?

Bharat First is an independent, citizen-run civic analysis platform. We publish sourced case studies of political instability in South Asia and argue that India's growth, stability, and constitutional democracy are more important than any single political brand or movement.

Why this site exists

In 2025 and 2026, two of India's neighbours — Nepal and Bangladesh — experienced large-scale, internet-organized protest movements that escalated rapidly into governance collapse.

  • Bangladesh, July-August 2024: Up to 1,400 dead (OHCHR), PM Sheikh Hasina fled to India, economy contracted to 36-year-low growth, 2,000+ documented attacks on Hindu minorities.
  • Nepal, September 2025: 76 dead, PM K.P. Sharma Oli resigned in 9 days, the Singha Durbar and Supreme Court burned down, unelected interim PM installed.

We see the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) movement — a viral, satirical, Discord/Twitter-organized identity that frames unemployed youth as "cockroaches" — as potentially fitting the same playbook. Satire and dissent are protected speech. What we critique is the trajectory — where rage movements have historically led when they replace governance.

What we stand for

  1. Country first, ideology second. India's stability and sovereignty come before any party, movement, or brand.
  2. Constitutional method, not mob method. Article 19 protects protest. Article 32, RTI, PIL, voting, and civil services are the channels that produce durable change.
  3. Sourced facts, not slogans. Every claim on this site is linked to a reputable source (OHCHR, Reuters, BBC, Wikipedia, MEA India, World Bank, IMF, Indian Express, etc.).
  4. No communal targeting. India belongs to Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, atheists — all equally. Movements that target any religious community are anti-India.
  5. Reform, not rage. Real change has come from RTI campaigns (15-year grind), RTE advocacy, Lokpal — not from viral meme cycles.

What we are not

  • We are not affiliated with any political party or government.
  • We do not target individual persons with unverified allegations.
  • We do not engage in communal framing against any religious community.
  • We are not a news organization in the traditional reportorial sense — we are an analysis platform that aggregates and contextualizes published reporting.

Editorial standards

  • Every factual claim has a source URL.
  • Preferred sources: OHCHR, UN News, Reuters, AP, BBC, Al Jazeera, The Hindu, Indian Express, The Print, Kathmandu Post, Dhaka Tribune, IMF, World Bank, Wikipedia (for general framing), MEA India (for official Indian positions).
  • We do not use social-media-only sources for factual claims.
  • When a number is contested between sources, we cite the range and the most rigorous source (e.g. OHCHR for Bangladesh deaths).
  • When we cannot verify a claim, we do not include it.

Why the domain is cockroachjantapartty.com

The domain was originally registered as a community hub for the CJP movement. Upon reflection, we concluded that supporting that trajectory was contrary to India's interest, and re-purposed the platform to provide independent analysis instead. We have retained the domain so that users searching for "Cockroach Janta Party" encounter a fact-based counter-perspective.
